Hygiene Kit Drive!

We travel to Guam,USA, and Palau regularly.  Two Pacific Islands where we will be serving children who are experiencing homelessness, and/or are in need.  The children we visit are often living out of a car or a tin shack with no running water or electricity.

We will be passing out hygiene kits, and be reminding the kids of how special they are. We have done for the past 5 years and we find the children, youth and their parents are welcoming and appreciative.  We believe by helping children with this basic need we are showing them that there is a community of people who care about them and their circumstances.

 

We know that hygiene kits help give children dignity. It helps them also avoid being rejected or bullied by peers when going to school.  It allows them to hold their heads high; and be better prepared to learn. It allows teen job seekers the ability to look their best and find success for themselves and for their families.

 

Families living on the edge financially are now able to have basic hygiene products for their children and can breathe a sigh of relief.

We would love for you to join us in providing this need and showing a child they are cared for.

 

You can build a kit with your family, team, troop and/or neighborhood. The possibilities are endless.  We have added a checklist to help aid in the process, and have pictures of the items we typically pass out. We put the items in a large gallon size ziplock bag and label it boy or girl, and child or teen. We have found alot of these items are easily found at our local dollar stores.

Adding an encouraging note, if possible, is a great way to share your care for the child or youth.
